Help us host our annual Trunk or Treat so that families in our community can make spook-tacular Halloween memories! Trunk hosts will decorate their vehicles in fun, spooky, or creative ways and distribute individually packaged treats to pre-registered participants.

Back by popular demand, participating families will WALK through the Trunk or Treat this year!

Trunk Host will also participate in the Trunk Decorating Contest. Judging will be based on creativity, originality, and effort! 

Trunk hosts MUST pre-register in order to participate in this event. Registration closes Wednesday, 10/25.

Additional Information
  • Informational email will be sent before the event begins. Your email must be on your account and opted into email notifications to receive the informational email.
  • ALL trunk hosts must pre-register in order to participate. If you prefer an in-person registration, please stop by the Parks & Recreation Office and we will assist you.
  • Trunk or Treat is from 5:30pm-8:00pm on Saturday, October 28th in the parking lot behind the Windham Mall. (Please note that this event will be held rain or shine. Rain location will be in the Windham Mall.)
  • Vehicles may begin arriving to set up starting at 4:00pm and MUST arrive no later than 5:00pm.
  • Each trunk will have at least a 10-ft wide space.
  • For safety purposes, host vehicles will not be allowed to leave the parking lot until the event ends at 8:00pm.
  • We anticipate approximately 400 children will attend the Trunk or Treat event; we will be able to provide more accurate participant numbers in the week prior to the event.
  • Trunk hosts will provide their own candy but Windham Parks and Recreation will provide some candy to each trunk to supplement what hosts provide. Candy MUST be individually wrapped.
  • We encourage you to consider whether you may be able to offer alternative treats for children with allergens. For those who are able to bring an allergy-friendly option, we will provide you with a sign to post on your trunk at check-in.
  • The Trunk Decorating Contest will be judged using a rubric that includes creativity/originality, attention to detail, execution of theme, costumes, and interaction with children. Prizes will awarded to the best business, community organization and family trunks, which will be announced by 7:30 p.m.
  • If you can no longer participate as a trunk host, please notify us by calling 892-1905 or emailing parks&recreation@windhammaine.us.
